  1. Hi! I loved your post. I’m a translation student but I’m keen on writing systems and I’m planning to create a mixed writing system for Quechua (which is one of the languages spoken in my country) I had a question about your project: How are you sure that the symbols won’t be repeated?

    1. Cheers Jaco!

Because of how blocks overlap, this DOES happen sometimes. It’s happened with the ‘k’ family and the ‘p’ family… It’s happened so seldom that it’s hard for me to find examples.

I’m not bothered by this and enjoy it happening. I think it happens so often in natural writing systems that it’s not something I’d need to actively avoid.

Best to you with translation and working with language. Quechua is amazing (from what I’ve read about it) and because you know it, you’ll have a wider perspective with your conlang projects.

Tell me when you unveil your writing system and get it on Omniglot too.

  2. I think it would be nicer if they can be written in Chinese calligraphy style or Arabic calligraphy style.

  3. I know this is very old, like three years now. But I have been starting to learn other languages with a group of friends and we love you language by the way. The 7 of us have trying to become fluent in this language as well as Japanese, ojibwe, Chinese, and one of the hardest in the world, Icelandic. So I know you probably won’t look at this, and you probably don’t care anymore, but my friends and I thank you.

    1. Sorry I took so long. Thank you for learning about ‘Umu and pseudoglyphs. I’m thinking of starting back up with new content. It’s been so long. Thanks for waiting 🙂
